How I Approach Therapy

I begin by getting to know you—your concerns, history, relationships, strengths, and what you hope will change. Together, we explore how past experiences and relationship patterns may be affecting life today.

EMDR is my primary approach for individual counseling, with ERP used specifically for OCD. I also draw on attachment and IFS-informed approaches when helpful. Before EMDR processing, we build resources to help you feel grounded and prepared.

For couples and premarital counseling, I focus on understanding relationship patterns and strengthening communication. Individual therapy may be recommended when personal experiences need further attention.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Starting Counseling

01 — Reach Out

02 — Begin Together

03 — The Work

Reach out with questions, share a little about what you’re looking for, and learn more about scheduling and what to expect before your first session.

In our first session, we’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, your history and current concerns, and what you hope will be different.

From there, we’ll work collaboratively toward your goals using the approaches that best support the work we’re doing together.
