ERP for OCD

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) involves unwanted thoughts, images, urges, or doubts, along with repetitive behaviors or mental rituals used to relieve distress or seek certainty. These may include checking, washing, reassurance-seeking, or mentally reviewing events.

Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) helps interrupt this cycle. Exposure means intentionally approaching thoughts, situations, or uncertainty that trigger OCD. Response prevention means practicing without the compulsions or avoidance you usually rely on for relief.

ERP is collaborative, with challenges planned together. The goal is to build greater freedom to live your life, even when uncomfortable thoughts or uncertainty are present.
