EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured psychotherapy that helps people process distressing experiences that continue to affect how they feel, think, and respond today.

During memory processing, you briefly focus on aspects of an experience while using guided eye movements or other forms of alternating left-right stimulation. The goal is to reduce the memory’s emotional intensity and support more helpful beliefs about yourself.

EMDR includes preparation and support throughout treatment. You don’t have to describe every detail of an experience for therapy to be helpful.
