Individual counseling offers a supportive space to understand what may be contributing to the patterns, emotions, or experiences that are making life difficult. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma and distressing experiences, life transitions, relationship concerns, emotional reactivity, and patterns that can leave you feeling stuck.
Treatment begins with getting to know you and understanding your history, current concerns, relationships, strengths, and goals. I also assess attachment patterns to better understand how earlier experiences and relationships may be influencing the way you relate to yourself and others today.
EMDR therapy is integrated into our work to identify and reprocess experiences that may be contributing to current distress or patterns. Before moving into reprocessing, we’ll make sure you have the support and resources needed to stay within a manageable window of tolerance. This may include working with your nervous system to strengthen regulation and increase your capacity to remain present with difficult material.
I may also integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed work when protective parts need additional understanding and support, particularly when those parts make it difficult to approach or process painful experiences.
Throughout the process, therapy is tailored to your needs and pace, with the goal of developing greater understanding, increasing flexibility in how you respond, and addressing experiences or patterns that may be getting in the way of the life and relationships you want.
